We are excited to highlight Alejandro Duran, one of the featured artists, as Artlune prepares for its upcoming exhibition "Against the Grain" at Galerie Romain Rolland. Duran is well-known for his provocative environmental artworks that make viewers consider how nature and mankind are intertwined.
Works by Duran, like "Mar Sea" from the "Washed Up" series, beautifully convey the fragility and beauty of the natural environment. Duran meticulously arranges plastic debris that is abandoned and washes up on beaches to create breathtaking visual compositions that serve as heartbreaking reminders of the environmental calamity our planet is currently facing.
Galerie Romain Rolland, in partnership with Alliance Française, will present Duran's poignant works from April 22 to May 7, which falls on World Earth Day. Artists such as Duran use this show as a platform to advocate for good change and raise awareness about sustainability.
