About the Artist
Manveer has always been fascinated with the way the world is depicted, through images found in books. He was particularly drawn to landscapes and found live painting to be exhilarating, especially having to capture a particular colour at a definite time. There is a sense of urgency that an artist feels, at that particular moment. It is as though an ephemeral moment exists between the artist and nature.
A real moment of reckoning happened for Manveer, when he moved to the bustling city of New Delhi. Having witnessed pollution at such large scale, his practice evolved into some sense of art based activism. He used plastic as a medium to create artworks. Within the last decade, he has up-cycled 2 metric ton of MLP (multi layered plastic) and 1 metric ton of PET plastic. In addition to creating installations, Manveer regularly conducts workshops to create awareness on responsible and sustainable living.
